The Murray and Forbes Travel Guide Award for Marco Polo Ortigas Manila

It was a night to celebrate a relaunch of a luxurious icon and a spectacular five star award!

 

The combined hospitality strength of the Marco Polo and Niccolo Hotels led by Group Director of Branding and Communications Alka Datwani, Vice President of Sales and Marketing Philip Schaetz, and Marco Polo Ortigas Manila Director of Marketing Communications Judith Los Baños, invited media partners for a journey in discovery as they introduce the iconic and uber elegant, The Murray.

The Murray, the tall white landmark structure along the Cotton Tree drive, was built in 1969, and has won many awards for its ground-breaking and energy-efficient design. With Niccolo Hotels’ management, the icon will feature 336 rooms and will showcase a sophisticated and urban chic sanctuary in the heart of the city.

 

“It is a conservation project. It’s an old government building that we are completely gutting from the inside. In fact, it’s Foster and Partners doing that. Everybody gets a special Niccolo hospitality in a contemporary yet very chic environment,” says Philip Schaetz.

The night also unveiled the Five Star rating of the Forbes Travel Guide 2017 – a first for the Philippines – to Marco Polo Ortigas Manila. Forbes Travel Guide is a global authority on luxury travel since 1958. Marco Polo Ortigas Manila, shares the honor to another hotel from the Philippines. The rating marks ‘outstanding, iconic properties with virtually flawless service and amazing facilities.’
